Feeling Threatened – part 2

Acts 4:31 -“ When they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God with boldness.”
Today we conclude our look at what to do when we feel threatened. Yesterday we focused on 1) Bringing God into the picture first and 2) praying for greater faith. Now we must 3) expect God to intervene. The disciples asked God to stretch out your hand to heal and protect. (Acts 4:30). They had been through a terrible storm with Jesus so they knew what He could do: “About three o’clock in the morning Jesus came to them, walking on the water.” (Matthew 14:25) Whether it is in the harshness of the noon day or the terror that strikes at the midnight hour, God still works overtime. He is available 24/7 and all we need to do is call on Him.
     4) The disciples were filled with the Holy Spirit (Acts 4:31). This is the key. They stayed energized and directed by the Spirit of God and we must too. It is OK to use our gifts and talents and networking, etc., as long as we lean only on God and realize that it is from his hand alone that our provision comes.
Every day is a good day; it is up to us to make it a victoriously GREAT day! Have a safe and fun Labor Day Holiday weekend. See you on Monday. Be blessed! Dr. JoAnn
