In As Much

Matthew 25: 44-45 – “44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee a hungered, or a thirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? 45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.”
Later today a good friend and I are going on a missionary journey to visit a friend in prison. Regardless of the reason or the rationale behind his incarceration, or any of those imprisoned with him, he is a child of the Most High God and it is our responsibility to keep him encouraged and supported. Christ told his disciples that when they did acts of kindness to those who cannot repay (the least of these) or who do not have the freedom to make certain decisions for themselves (sick or imprisoned) we are acting in accordance to lifting them as if we did it directly for Christ.
You might not be in a position to go on a sojourn right now or have the time to cook a full meal to give away, but you can pay for the dinner of someone you see struggling to find enough change in their wallet to pay for their meal or take a quick stroll through a local nursing home and speak a few kind words to elderly patrons who are lonely and just need a human touch and voice to soothe them. This weekend I challenge us to do – “In As Much” and watch how your joy will expand.
Every day is a good day; it is up to us to make it a GREAT day! Have an awesome weekend. See you on Monday. Be blessed – Rev. Dr. JoAnn
