Hope in a Dream

Psalm 90:27-“ May the Lord our God show us his approval,  And make our efforts successful. Yes and make our  efforts  successful.”
Yesterday afternoon I had the distinct pleasure of doing an introductory presentation for a wonderful group of African youth leaders that are visiting the United States under the Mandela Washington project which was started under the Obama administration. Twenty five young people from 18 different African nations converged on the city of Atlanta-poised to learn from leadership and mentor programs designed specifically for them. As I talked with them and learned of their entrepreneurial ventures one thing resonated clearly… Hope in a dream.   Many of them come from very rural areas with a hope in a dream that their ideas would prove to be the turning point for their communities. How often have we squelched what we thought was a meaningless idea only to realize later that -what we could have done or said would have impacted the lives of many.
These young people are not afraid to step out on faith, journey halfway around the world, trust total strangers for their well- being and pray that their ideas will be seed to an awesome harvest.  Well is that time to be inspired to take those old projects off the shelf... pull those things that had fallen off the stove and put them back on the front burner ...pump up the heat ...pump up the volume and get busy making your dreams come true.  If these young people can come thousands of miles you can surely walk to your desk and open up that computer ...go to your sewing room and design that outfit ...step to the bank and inquire about that loan to start your business ..., do whatever it takes to move along and discover what you really have to offer. ..it only takes one step to get started.Everyday is a good day; it is up to us to make it a GREAT day! Be blessed! Rev.  Dr. JoAnn
