Good Work

Galatians 4:18: “It is good for you to work hard, of course, if it is for something good. That’s something you should do whether I am there or not.”

When we are given a task to complete, whether we believe it is in our “job description”  or within our “scope” of ability, it is good for us to make a conscientious effort to do our best.  Often assignments are handed to us not so much for whether we can do them or not,  but about our willingness to try.
And as we endeavor to complete tasks that we are familiar with it is a good practice to always strive to do the work as if the one who requests it is close at hand.  We never know who is watching but we can always be assured that God has his eye on our motives and motivations.  We must do all things as unto the Lord.  So if we are asked to relinquish our leadership position to serve others for a season we should count it all joy as we show God the humbleness of our spirit.  What a great example of love God provided when he humbled himself in an earthly frame as the Christ.  Let us be mindful that “good” work often requires sacrifice and humility.
Every day is a good day; it’s up to us to make it a Great day! Be blessed! Rev. Dr. JoAnn
