Shotgun vs Handgun

Ephesians 5: 15-17- “Live life, then, with a due sense of responsibility, not as men who do not know the meaning and purpose of life but as those who do. Make the best use of your time, despite all the difficulties of these days. Don’t be vague but firmly grasp what you know to be the will of God."
Starting the beginning of this year I added another line to my blog closing statement reminding us to remain focused. With the recent tragedies of militia violence against citizens, the trauma of club shootings; mass homicide-suicide killings the media is replete with story after story of the ills of rapid fire, wide spread artillery. Talk after talk about gun control centers on why gun enthusiasts need to have guns which deliver such wide spread killing power. Who needs an AK-47 to hunt deer? Most hunters like the thrill of stalking their prey and the precision of utilizing minimal gun fire to bring down their prize. They don’t shoot blindly into a crowd of animals and hope to hit some random target with a spray of bullets.
Likewise we don’t need to try a shotgun, scattering attempt to conquer the tasks that God has positioned before us. We need to focus on our purpose; know our gifts and talents; study to show ourselves approved; take careful aim at the issue and use precision in successfully mastering the undertaking. Have faith in God. Be diligent in pursuing his plans and directives for your life. Live life with a sense of responsibility and make the best use of your time.
Every day is a good day; it is up to us to make it a GREAT day. Don’t be distracted – stay focused on your purpose! Be blessed! Dr. JoAnn
